Ingredients
  

For the Tofu:

  • 1 block 14 oz firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oil for frying

For the Orange Sauce:

  • ½ cup orange juice freshly squeezed if you’re feeling fancy
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or agave
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp sriracha optional, but recommended
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water for thickening
  • Zest of 1 orange

Instructions
 

  • Toss tofu cubes in soy sauce, then coat with cornstarch for extra crispiness.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, then cook tofu until golden brown on all sides.
  • In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, ginger, garlic, and sriracha.
  • Pour sauce into the skillet with the crispy tofu.
  • Stir in cornstarch slurry and simmer until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
  • Add orange zest for extra flavor and toss everything to coat.
  • Remove from heat and serve over rice or noodles.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for that fancy touch.
