Ingredients
  

For the Tofu

  • 1 block 14 oz extra-firm tofu (pressed and cubed)
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

For the Sauce

  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup or agave
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sriracha adjust to taste
  • 2 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

For Garnish

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions chopped

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tofu

  • Press tofu for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut into bite-sized cubes and toss with soy sauce, garlic powder, and cornstarch.

Crisp the Tofu

  • Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook tofu until golden and crispy, about 5 minutes per side.

Make the Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, sriracha, ginger, garlic, and vegetable broth.
  • Mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce.

Combine Everything

  • Pour sauce into the pan with the tofu.
  • Stir until thickened and the tofu is fully coated.

Serve & Garnish

  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  • Serve with rice or steamed veggies.
