Ingredients
  

For the Crispy Tofu
  • 1 block 14 oz extra-firm tofu (pressed)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
For the Garlic Sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Method
 

Prepare the Tofu
  1. Press tofu for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. Cut into cubes and toss with cornstarch, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Crisp It Up
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook tofu for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Make the Garlic Sauce
  1. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and broth.
  2. Heat in a pan, add garlic, and simmer for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened.
Combine & Serve
  1. Toss crispy tofu in the garlic sauce until well coated.
  2. Serve hot over rice or veggies.
