Ingredients
  

For the Crispy Tofu

  • 1 block 14 oz extra-firm tofu (pressed)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder

For the Garlic Sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tofu

  • Press tofu for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  • Cut into cubes and toss with cornstarch, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Crisp It Up

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook tofu for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

Make the Garlic Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and broth.
  • Heat in a pan, add garlic, and simmer for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened.

Combine & Serve

  • Toss crispy tofu in the garlic sauce until well coated.
  • Serve hot over rice or veggies.
